Marti Anderson for Iowa

Background on Marti Anderson

Marti is a Des Moines native. The eldest of five children, she attended St. Theresa, St. John, and St. Augustine grade schools and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1969. Marti earned a BA in social work from the University of Northern Iowa and her MSW from the University of Iowa. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and owner of Marti Anderson Consulting. Marti lives in the Beaverdale neighborhood of District 36 with her husband, Bob Brammer.

During Marti's 38-year social work career, she worked at Broadlawns Medical Center, Polk County Victim Services (now Crisis & Advocacy), the Polk County Family Violence Center, and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa. She retired in June, 2011 after 22 years service as the founding Director of the Iowa Attorney General's Crime Victim Assistance Division.
